Enzymes are normally present in the body and are used for various functions. For instance, the pancreas produces enzymes for digestion. Other enzymes are used for various cell processes.

Enzymes are also introduced to the body from the consumption of fresh vegetables. Bromelain for instance is found in pineapples and when you eat some pineapple, that enzyme is introduced into your body.

Enzymes have no toxicity issues so they are perfectly safe in that regard.

Most of the enzymes in Biofase will remain in the intestine but some, such as serrapeptase and nattokinase can enter the blood stream and sometimes thin the blood when taken in high amounts.

From some articles I've read by other people in the supplement industry, 300,000 units of serrapeptase is safe to take daily while pregnant. If this is true, then you could take 4 capsules a day of Biofase.

However, when in doubt you could always ask your doctor.
