Candida in blood question?

by Denise
(NSW Australia)

I had a capillary spot blood test which showed Candida in my blood. I just had a blood culture from arterial blood at the lab because I'm concerned the finger spot blood test could be contaminated by skin micro yeasts and have given me a false positive. I don't want to take systemic antifungals if not needed.

Was the capillary spot blood test done by a lab or at the doctors office where they put the sample under a microscope?

Hopefully the other blood test comes back negative otherwise you are going to have to take prescription antifungals.

Other than that, did you have a specific question?
