The following nutrition information is provided by the USDA for 1 cup (154g) of sliced, boiled green plantain.

Calories: 179
Fat: 0.3g
Sodium: 8mg
Carbohydrates: 48g
Fiber: 3.5g
Sugars: 22g
Protein: 1.2g

48g of carbohydrates and 22g of sugar at any one time while on the Candida diet is quite a bit. However, the glycemic index is 38.5 which is low but as they ripen the sugars in plantains increase, which would increase the glycemic index. The fiber in plantains is a resistant starch and helps bind the carbohydrates while also feeding good bacteria. Cooking them does not increase the amount of carbs so it won't change the glycemic load. Frying in coconut oil adds good fat and coconut oil does help control candida yeast.

In Nigeria, people often use plantains to help manage diabetes. According to WebMD, some studies show they have a hypoglycemic effect, so they can lower blood sugar. This blood sugar lowering effect would prevent the carbs and sugars from feeding skin or vaginal yeast. In the gut could be a different story, it could possibly feed Candida yeast in the gut. However, you can't cut off all carbs on the Candida diet because the immune system needs some daily carbs to function correctly. So I would add the carbs to your daily total and monitor myself to see how they made me feel. If they caused bad reactions then I wouldn't eat them.

Beware of Terra brand chips
by: Anonymous

Terra brand chips use Canola oil too which is not good for us.
1. There is No canola plant.
2 Canola oil is made out of Rapeseed.
3. They used rapeseed oil on battle ships as a lube and gmo to serve to us.

Technically, canola does come from the rapeseed plant which belongs to the Brassica plant family as does mustard, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower.

What is Canola?

Rapeseed is a bright-yellow flowering member of the family Brassicaceae, cultivated mainly for its oil-rich seed, which naturally contains appreciable amounts of erucic acid. Canola are a group of rapeseed cultivars which were bred to have very low levels of erucic acid and are especially prized for use for human and animal food. Rapeseed is the third-largest source of vegetable oil and second-largest source of protein meal in the world.

What is Rapeseed?

Vegetable oils are generally not healthy fats. They contain trans fats and cause inflammation and other health problems over time. You're better off using coconut and olive oil and for very high cooking temperatures avocado oil works well.
