Are fermented (probiotic) milk products (without lactose or sugar) ok on the candida diet?

by Hilary
(Germany)

Is it ok (or even advisable) to consume pure fermented (non-lactose, non-sugar) milk products like yogurt, kefir and quark on the candida diet? - and if so, how much?

The article does not make this clear so it would be great to have clarification or a link to another article that does make it clear. Up till now I have avoided all diary apart from pure fermented and only organic products (to avoid the additives) but after reading the article I am not sure if I should be including even those now.

As I do not have a food intolerance to fermented dairy (but I do to lactose and a lot of other things), it does help to be able to include these in my diet - but I am now wondering after reading the article if consuming any dairy at all might be creating a problem nevertheless.

We have a webpage here about this topic.

Basically though, fermented milk products like yogurt, kefir and quark are ok on the Candida diet if they have not added a bunch of sugar to the product.

I would however add what carbs there is into your daily totals and try to keep it to 50 to 60 grams per day.

Any other questions let us know.
